Sinopse
O polêmico “Der Untergang”, dirigido por Oliver Hirschbiegel, se centra nos últimos doze dias da vida de Adolf Hitler. Bruno Ganz interpretou com grande realismo um Hitler envelhecido e doente poucos dias antes do seu suicídio no bunker da antiga diplomacia do 3º Reich em Berlim. A história se desenvolve entre 20 de abril (dia do aniversário de 56 anos de Hitler) e 2 de maio de 1945 (dois dias após seu suicídio) e faz contraste entre a batalha final por Berlim e o que aconteceu nos fundos do imponente edifício em ruínas da Reichskanzlei. Junto a Bruno Ganz atuam Alexandra Maria Lara (secretária pessoal de Hitler), Ulrich Matthes e Corinna Harfouch (o ministro de Propaganda Joseph Goebbels e sua esposa) e Juliane Koehler (Eva Braun). O filme causou polêmica antes da estréia. É a primeira aproximação do cinema alemão, depois da Segunda Guerra Mundial, desta obscura figura de sua história recente. Muitos críticos alemães questionavam se deveria se mostrar um Hitler humano, com medos e problemas, e não apenas o monstro com energia criminosa que representou para a história da Europa na primeira metade do século 20.
